Strategic partnership with the New Homes Quality Board (NHQB)

NHQB was at a moment of evolution — with a newly formed leadership team, a recently appointed CEO, and a commitment to building a high-performing organisation with a clear purpose and strong culture.

Working largely remotely, the team had limited time together and few opportunities to build trust or align on expectations. The CEO recognised the need for support: not just to improve team dynamics, but to shape a stronger leadership culture from the top down.

The Challenge

Mix Partners was initially brought in to deliver a team coaching programme to help the NHQB leadership team strengthen relationships, improve communication and clarify shared goals. As the work progressed, it evolved into a wider strategic partnership — including work with the CEO, senior leaders and the board.

The Approach

Through an evolving partnership approach, the work included:

  • A discovery phase with the leadership team and board
  • Four Leadership Team coaching workshops, rooted in the GC Index and focused on trust, purpose, role clarity and leadership behaviours
  • A whole team values definition project to shape NHQB’s organisational values
  • 1:1 coaching for the CEO
  • Facilitation of the board away day

The approach combined space for reflection with practical tools to support real change, all grounded in NHQB’s ambitions and context.

The Result

The leadership team became more confident, open and aligned. They developed a stronger sense of collective purpose, improved their ability to challenge one another constructively, and shaped a culture that is supportive, values-led and striving for excellence.

The CEO gained clarity and confidence in leading the team and board through a period of growth and change — and the organisation now has a set of values that truly reflect who they are and how they work.

"Caroline has been a fantastic partner through a period of growth and change. She brings energy, perspective and drive, helping us lead with greater confidence and build a stronger, more connected team"
