Leadership development for a fast-growing agency
In fast-paced, high-performing agencies, Directors play a pivotal role. They’re the engine of delivery, trusted advisors to clients, leaders of teams — and the talent pipeline for future Partners. It’s a challenging position to hold, with pressure coming from all sides.
Mix Partners was invited to design and deliver a tailored leadership development programme for three Directors in a fast-growing agency, each with strong potential to step into the most senior roles.
The Challenge
The agency wanted to invest in this cohort at a key moment — giving them the support, space and stretch to grow into confident, purposeful senior leaders. The programme focused on two core themes:
- Leading with purpose – setting the tone, inspiring others, and managing both upwards and downwards
- Communicating with impact – building gravitas, strengthening presence, and influencing with confidence
The Approach
We combined two half-day workshops with three rounds of individual leadership coaching, creating space for both shared learning and deeper individual reflection. Each Director had the chance to explore what kind of leader they wanted to be, experiment with new behaviours, and take more ownership of their development.
The Result
By the end of the programme, each Director had a stronger sense of their leadership identity, clearer priorities, and more confidence in how they show up across the business. Partners noticed an immediate shift in their energy — greater proactivity, stronger rapport, and a visible step-up in their ability to lead at the most senior level.
